As opposed to the added Hurk missions in Far Cry 4, which were actually fun. Agreed. I did one last night, and I doubt I'll do the rest any time soon. I did the mammoth missions right away just to be done with them. Overall, I feel all the missions were generally poor. The one that stands out though is the "Kill All The Rhinos" mission.
